JUST FOR FUN > Folk Art
A friend asked me to attend a toll painting workshop one fall and I guess that was the start of it. There is something so relaxing about folk painting. There really isn’t a function to what I create — it’s purely decorative. I don’t have to be precise or technical meaning I don’t have to think much which is very relaxing and satisfying. Below are a few things I have worked on over the years, mostly during the winter since that’s pretty much the only time when a few hours surface that don’t need to be filled with chores or responsibilities.
- This is the first house I painted. It’s a B&B called Robin’s Roost.
- This house is an English cottage that sells Sweet Tweets.
- The Twitter Inn is painted in the style of arts and crafts.
- I wasn’t thinking when I named this grain elevator. Just ask any male…
- Wing Temple is a mix of various asian influences.
- My latest addition: Gully’s Fish & Chip shack
